What will the HR Coodinator at Airgas do?

The HR Coordinator is a key contact for associates, managers and HR staff. The person in this role must be professional, approachable, engaged, efficient and a fast problem solver. Moreover, s/he must balance front office customer service with back office systems and administration. Most importantly, the HR Coordinator must have a strong sense of urgency, be very organized, take initiative and work well in a team environment.

  • Build reputation for availability, engagement, response time and excellent customer service. Proactively connect with associates, frontline leaders and HR counterparts to foster positive relations and productive collaboration.
  • Serve as key corporate contact for associate questions and requests (e.g., new hire paperwork, administrative processes and forms, payroll, systems, policies, procedures, benefits, etc.).
  • Provide key reports using the HRIS, while maintaining confidentiality by keeping company and personnel information private and secure.
  • Filter and respond to communications independently when possible (e.g., answer/screen incoming calls and correspondence, draft responses, organize information, prioritize actions/responses according to degree of importance and/or urgency).
  • Enter approved personnel, employment, job, organization, compensation and other data into the HR Management System in an accurate and timely manner. Work closely with Payroll to ensure HR data is accurate and available for payroll processing.
  • Maintain and improve hard copy and electronic filing (e.g., personnel files, databases, spreadsheets; ensuring security of confidential information); ensure integrity of HR data
  • Process invoices (e.g., review billings for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, obtain approvals, forward to Accounts Payable for payment, generate reports, etc.).
  • Conduct exit interviews and respond to unemployment claims as needed.
  • Manage electronic onboarding process for new hires and present new-employee orientations to ensure associates gain an understanding of benefits plans and enrollment provisions.
  • Facilitate associate site tours quarterly to introduce associates to the various parts of the Airgas business.
  • Process tuition reimbursement requests from start to finish.
  • Generate reports on various HR activities (e.g., performance review tracking, electronic file maintenance, employment verification, unemployment claims, etc.).
  • Acts as a team player who recommends new approaches, who contributes to continuous improvement of HR processes.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • 3 years HR-related experience or degree in related field
  • HR systems proficiency: data entry, systems and report writers, particularly ADP EV5 and ADPR
  • Strong spreadsheet skills (e.g., V-look-up, pivot table
