Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a positive and motivated Payroll Tax Specialist to join the finance team in our Raleigh office. This is a full-time, regular position, and can be done remotely. As a Payroll Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for the administration of federal, state, local, employee and employer payroll taxes, including research, reconciliation, and preparation of tax returns in a timely and accurate manner. We are looking for a payroll tax professional with at least two years of experience in MasterTax software and is able to issue employee W2s through this tool. As a payroll tax expert, you will work heavily in this software. As a Payroll Tax Specialist, you will Provide accurate and timely reporting of all payroll taxes and payroll payments across our organization in all 50 states and 30 municipalities Prepare and remit federal, state, and local withholding tax returns (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually) Prepare quarterly unemployment returns and payments SUTA Prepare and reconcile quarterly and annual federal payroll tax returns (FUTA, 941, 941C) Assist with W-2 audit report review, conduct analysis, and research All other duties as assigned by manager Requirements At least 2 years of experience utilizing MasterTax software and issuing employer W2s through MasterTax At least 2-4 years of in-house payroll experience or public tax accounting Working knowledge of PrismHR a plus Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent organization skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Knowledge of payroll tax laws in a multi-state environment Strong computer proficiency, including MS Excel and Word Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
