Job Description
  • Kelly Services has an IMMEDIATE Full-time Temp to Hire opening for a Payroll/HR Technician in Pewaukee, WI-
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm but can be flexible
$41k-$51k annually

Job Summary:
Provide professional and administrative day-to-day transactional support and assistance to the functions and operations of the Talent Operations team. Incumbent-s responsibilities may be a variation of the essential duties listed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to internal and external stakeholders regarding complex benefits issues. Enroll new hires into benefit plans, monitor Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) eligibility and communications.
Provide troubleshooting of time and attendance system for end users. Track and monitor sick, vacation and Paid Time Off (PTO) allocations. Manage the timesheet submission process in order to maintain timely payroll processing.
Review new job requisitions for accuracy, post approved positions, update and maintain applicant tracking system, collect and review all new hire paperwork, run and monitor the criminal background check, occupational health assessment, and reference check processes. Administer pre-employment testing to determine candidate interviews, coordinate the standard interview process and prepare interview materials.
Enter new hires and terminations and keep records updated in the people management system. Enter payroll distribution changes.
Run payroll and other reports regularly. Conduct bi-monthly system audits to ensure data and system integrity.
Send and collect FMLA paperwork, verify FLMA requirements are met, conduct time and attendance tracking of FMLA, follow up with employees to gather all required paperwork and answer questions.
Complete a variety of duties in support of employees and department related to supporting new, existing and retired employees.
Prepare, distribute, process, and log employment contracts and other correspondence, collect and process student bi-annual student increases.
Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities. Provide back-up support services, as required. Support College managers in quality and process improvement activities including special projects of a similar nature and level.
Accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, insurance benefit payments, tax deductions and reporting, processing and maintenance of externally funded projects and other assigned accounts.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A solid understanding of payroll practices and processing
Working knowledge of group insurance plans and/or claims adjudication
Effective interpersonal communication skills in speaking, writing and listening; demonstrated ability to do effective public speaking to groups of all sizes
Orientation to detail, completing and maintaining a high level of accuracy
Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as ratios and percentages
Ability to compile data, analyze data and write/prepare reports
Ability to manage time, organize and prioritize
Ability to read, understand, write and explain technical procedures
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external contacts
Proficiency with Office software, database systems, HRIS/payroll systems, common office practices such as writing procedures, and operation of common office equipment

Educational and Experience Requirements:
Associate degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting or related field; Bachelor-s degree preferred
  • Three years of HR office support experience to include payroll processing experience
One year of experience with benefits administration and/or insurance claims administration support
